Our History
Our founder, Charles E. Howells, started servicing the utilities in Iowa and Nebraska in 1968, when he moved to Omaha as an A.B. Chance salesman for the territory. Charlie worked with Chance until 1976, when he began working as a manufacturer’s representative. In 1982, Charlie set up an independent manufacturer’s representative firm, C.E. Howells Sales Company. Howells Sales continued to grow and in 1997, we changed our name to EnergySolutions, Inc.
Charles E. Howells passed away in September of 2022 at the age of 88.
Our Growth
In 1997, Scott Howells officially took over as President of the company from Charlie. Scott invested the next two decades growing the business and our reputation in the industry. He built a great manufacturer’s representative firm and paved the way for our future growth. Scott has worked in our industry for the past 38 years. He retired from ESI on February 28th, 2020.
Our Future
ESI announced the new principals of the agency, Mike Amfahr and Adam Nelson, effective March 1st, 2020.
Mike and Adam have a combined 38 years of experience at EnergySolutions, Inc. and have been working together to ensure a smooth ownership transition since this process started in 2016. They are equal principal owners, that look forward to many years of continued mutual success with our strong group of manufacturer partners and clients.
